PROFESSIONAL LEARNER RELEASE UPDATE: Aug 12, 2026 | VERSION 17.0.33

This release series makes Credalyst a more connected workspace for planning professional growth, keeping learning records organized, finding and registering for learning, and preparing for license renewal. The changes below focus on what professional learners and educators can see and use.

Highlights

A guided Professional Plan now brings goals, planned learning, district feedback, and renewal dates into one workspace.

Renewal Progress can focus on the learner’s current license period instead of the full learning history.

District and school goals can appear in the plan and connect to individual professional goals and learning.

Portfolio records can be added to a plan without copying or changing verified source information.

Completed plans can be downloaded as printable PDFs, and prior renewal cycles remain available.

Approval completion now uses clearer supporting materials and requires Evidence/Transcript documentation.

Online courses, registrations, and credential claims are more closely connected from enrollment through recognition.

Renewal Progress now includes General / Other Qualifying PDPs and lets learners set the last license renewal date directly on the progress card.

Workshop and class listings can open a prefilled reimbursement pre-approval request before registration.

Add Record now offers consistent learning and credential types, including courses, training, workshops, conferences, certificates, licenses, and micro-credentials.

Connected provider registration and online course access now follow the learner from the district catalog into the correct course experience.

Claimed learning appears in Portfolio while district approval screens remain focused on requests actually submitted to the district.

Professional Plans and Renewal

A guided plan for professional growth

Professional Plan is now available within My Credentials > Renewals. For Massachusetts educators, it follows the major sections of the Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP) while using plain language and a guided workflow.

You can:

  • Record your last license renewal and next renewal dates.
  • Review district, school, department, role, or individually assigned goals.
  • Create professional goals and explain how you will measure progress.
  • Plan future learning or add learning already recorded in your Portfolio.
  • Save a private draft before sharing a read-only snapshot with your district.
  • Respond to requested changes and send completed work for final district sign-off.
  • Download a printable PDF copy of the plan and its available review record.

A clearer way to plan learning

The Plan learning section now separates your Portfolio library from Learning in this plan. Search and filters help you find records that have not been added, review all available records, or focus on the current renewal cycle.

For an imported Portfolio record, provider, date, PDPs, and completion status remain connected to the source. Plan-specific choices – such as learning format, the goal supported, and how the learning will support your practice – remain editable in the plan.

Current Renewal-Cycle Progress

Renewal Progress uses the Last license renewal and Next license renewal dates in your Professional Plan. You can now set the last renewal date directly on the Primary License Renewal card; it saves to the same Professional Plan schedule. When a last renewal date is present, the screen focuses on qualifying learning dated on or after that date.

Starting a new license cycle

After a plan is complete and endorsed, New License Cycle creates a separate draft for the next period. It does not delete your earlier plan or reset your lifelong learning history.

General / Other qualifying PDPs

Renewal Progress now shows General / Other Qualifying PDPs alongside the four Massachusetts 15-PDP categories. These records count toward the overall 150-PDP total without being forced into a category that does not fit.

Connected Goals

Published priorities assigned by your district or school can now appear in your Professional Plan. You can connect your own professional goal to an assigned goal, then connect planned learning to your professional goal.

This helps you show:

  • What you want to improve in your professional practice.
  • Which district or school priority your goal supports, when applicable.
  • What learning you plan to complete.
  • How that learning is expected to support your practice.

Portfolio records remain the source of truth

Adding a Portfolio record to a plan does not create a duplicate. Verified facts stay connected to the issuing record. If a self-reported record is incomplete or inaccurate, use Review source record or Edit source record to correct it in Portfolio.

Approval and Completion Improvements

Evidence/Transcript is required at completion

  • When you submit an approved activity for final completion review, attach at least one Evidence/Transcript file, such as a transcript, certificate, or other proof of completion.
  • If reimbursement is requested, completion may require both:
  • Evidence/Transcript showing that the learning was completed.
  • A receipt supporting the reimbursement request.

Supporting materials are easier to understand

  • The approval workflow now distinguishes:
  • Pre-approval links and documents, such as a course page, agenda, or syllabus.
  • Post-completion Evidence/Transcript, such as a transcript, certificate, or other proof.
  • Receipts for reimbursement, when applicable.
  • Older records that stored materials together remain available and may be labeled as legacy supporting files.

Catalog, Registration, and Connected Learning

Learning from district and connected-provider catalogs

  • Districts can include selected offerings from connected training providers in the local PD Catalog. The listing stays connected to its provider, while the district can make the opportunity easier for its educators to find. Courses, workshops, in-person sessions, and synchronous online classes can use the same pattern.
  • Registration remains separate from course completion and credential recognition. When registration is required, course access opens only after the active registration or entitlement is confirmed. Completing the course may prepare a credential claim, but it does not always mean the credential has already been issued.

Requesting pre-approval from the catalog

  • When a listed workshop or class may require reimbursement or district permission, Request Pre-Approval opens the existing approval form with the activity details already filled in. Review the information, add the expected cost and supporting materials, and submit only when ready. Registration is still a separate action.

Claims and approvals stay distinct

  • A claimed course award appears in Portfolio with a Claimed status while it is being processed. District Submissions and Approvals remain focused on pre-approval, reimbursement, and completion requests actually sent to the district. Award titles now favor the course, workshop, or class name so the record is easier to recognize.

Clearer actions and labels

Primary actions now keep readable white text across supported themes. Add Record uses the same practical type vocabulary found elsewhere in Credalyst, making self-reported learning easier to classify consistently.

What Professional Learners Should Review

  • Open My Credentials > Renewals and confirm the Last license renewal date shown in Renewal Progress; confirm the next renewal date in Professional Plan.
  • Review goals assigned to you and connect your own professional goals where appropriate.
  • Use Add from your Portfolio to bring existing learning into the plan without duplicating it.
  • Correct inaccurate self-reported facts in Portfolio rather than changing source facts in plan notes.
  • Keep an Evidence/Transcript file for each activity that will require final completion review.
  • Use Save draft while working, and share the plan only when you are ready for district review.

ADMINISTRATOR RELEASE UPDATE: Aug 4, 2026  |  VERSION 17.0.30

This release series expands Credalyst from credential and professional learning tracking into a more complete planning, approval, and license-renewal workspace. The changes below focus on what school and district administrators will see and use.

Highlights

  • Educators can create and maintain a Massachusetts Individual Professional Development Plan (IPDP) alongside their renewal records.
  • Administrators have a dedicated Professional Plans review queue for feedback, initial acceptance, and final endorsement.
  • District and school goals can be assigned to educators and carried into their professional plans.
  • License renewal progress is based on each educator’s stated renewal schedule, with prior cycles preserved.
  • Course approval and completion records now provide clearer documents, stronger evidence requirements, and broader administrator notifications.
  • Online courses, classes, and credential claims are more closely connected, giving administrators a clearer path from registration through credential review.

Professional Plans and License Renewal

A guided professional plan for educators

Educators now have a Professional Plan workspace within My Credentials > Renewals. The Massachusetts version follows the major sections of the state’s IPDP form while keeping the experience straightforward for educators who may not be familiar with recertification terminology.

Educators can:

  • Record their last license renewal and next renewal dates.
  • Describe district, school, and individual professional goals.
  • Plan future learning and include learning already recorded in their portfolio.
  • Save a draft before sharing it with the district.
  • Respond to requested changes and submit a completed plan for district sign-off.
  • Download a printable PDF copy of the plan.

A dedicated administrator review queue

The Credential Administration dashboard now includes Professional Plans. Authorized reviewers can:

  • See plans within their assigned review scope.
  • Review an educator’s goals, planned learning, completed activities, and reflection.
  • Request changes with a note to the educator.
  • Accept the initial plan.
  • Record final endorsement at the end of the cycle.
  • Review the plan’s decision and revision history.

Plans without a specifically assigned supervisor remain available to the district’s Professional Plan Administrator queue.

Renewal dates now control the current-cycle view

The dates entered in an educator’s Professional Plan are also used by Renewal Progress. When dates are present, the renewal screen focuses on learning from the educator’s current license period rather than showing the educator’s entire history.

Educators can update the renewal schedule if it is incomplete or inaccurate. When an endorsed cycle is complete, New License Cycle creates a new plan without deleting or resetting the prior plan.

District and School Goal Alignment

Goals created in Goals & Planning can now flow into an educator’s Professional Plan based on district, school, department, role, or individual assignment.

Administrators can:

  • Mark an assigned goal as required.
  • Publish district and school priorities to the appropriate educators.
  • See which organizational goal an educator’s professional goal supports.
  • Review the connection between planned learning and broader priorities.

This makes it easier to explain how professional learning investments support school and district improvement work while preserving the educator’s own professional goals.

Approval and Completion Improvements

Administrator copies of approval emails

Each educator-facing email in the approval lifecycle can now generate a separate administrator copy. This includes request receipt, information requests and responses, approval, completion submission, final completion, rejection, and expiration.

The administrator copy is enabled by default and uses the default administration email unless the district enters a different address under Setup > Notifications. Copies are sent as separate messages rather than CCs, so educator and administrator addresses are not exposed to one another.

Stronger completion evidence requirements

Educators must now attach at least one Evidence/Transcript file when submitting an approved activity for final completion review. Reimbursement requests continue to require a receipt as well.

This means a reimbursement completion may require both:

  • Evidence/Transcript showing that the learning was completed.
  • A receipt supporting the reimbursement request.

Clearer supporting materials for reviewers

The administrator review screen now separates:

  • Pre-approval link and documents, such as a course page, agenda, or syllabus.
  • Post-completion Evidence/Transcript, such as a transcript, certificate, or other proof of completion.
  • Receipts for reimbursement, when applicable.

Older records that stored these files together remain available and are labeled as legacy supporting files.

Courses, Classes, and Credential Claims

Online course connections

Administrators can associate an online course with a specific class or session. Registration is used to determine which learners should receive access to that learning experience.

This supports a clearer division of responsibilities:

  • The class or session controls registration and credential eligibility.
  • The online course or Community experience delivers the learning.
  • The credential claim or approval process records the final award.

Pending LMS claims on the administrator dashboard

When a course completion creates a credential claim that still requires review, it appears in Pending LMS Credential Claims on the Credential Administration dashboard. Administrators can review, approve, reject, or open the related credential record.

More flexible PDP values

Administrators can set professional development credit at the credential, workshop, or individual class/session level. A class/session-specific PDP value takes priority when one is entered, allowing a particular offering to carry a different value without changing the reusable workshop or credential definition.

Controlled Catalog Sharing

Credalyst now includes the foundation for an organization to publish selected professional learning offerings to an authorized partner catalog. Published offerings can include in-person events, synchronous online sessions, workshops, and online courses.

Catalog sharing is not automatically public. It requires an enabled network offering and an authorized integration with catalog-read access. District-specific catalog intake, curation, and registration rules may still require configuration before partner offerings appear to educators.

For Professional Learners

This release series makes Credalyst a more connected workspace for planning professional growth, keeping learning records organized, and preparing for license renewal. The changes below focus on what professional learners and educators can see and use.

Highlights

  • A guided Professional Plan now brings goals, planned learning, district feedback, and renewal dates into one workspace.
  • Renewal Progress can focus on the learner’s current license period instead of the full learning history.
  • District and school goals can appear in the plan and connect to individual professional goals and learning.
  • Portfolio records can be added to a plan without copying or changing verified source information.
  • Completed plans can be downloaded as printable PDFs, and prior renewal cycles remain available.
  • Approval completion now uses clearer supporting materials and requires Evidence/Transcript documentation.
  • Online courses, registrations, and credential claims are more closely connected from enrollment through recognition.

Saving and sharing are separate actions

Save draft keeps your work private and shows whether changes remain unsaved. Share updated plan with my district sends a read-only snapshot into the district review process. Sharing a plan is not the same as submitting a license-renewal application to the state.

Renewal-Cycle Progress

Your renewal schedule focuses the calculation

Renewal Progress uses the Last license renewal and Next license renewal dates in your Professional Plan. When those dates are present, the screen focuses on learning within that period. If something looks wrong, check the dates before changing individual learning records.

Renewal Progress is a planning aid. Your licensing authority makes the final determination about what counts toward renewal.

Starting a new license cycle

After a plan is complete and endorsed, New License Cycle creates a separate draft for the next period. It does not delete your earlier plan or reset your lifelong learning history.

Connected Learning and District Goals

Evidence/Transcript is required for completion

When you submit an approved activity for final completion review, attach at least one Evidence/Transcript file, such as a transcript, certificate, or other proof of completion.

If reimbursement is requested, completion may require both:

  • Evidence/Transcript showing that the learning was completed.
  • A receipt supporting the reimbursement request.

Supporting materials are easier to understand

The approval workflow now distinguishes:

  • Pre-approval links and documents, such as a course page, agenda, or syllabus.
  • Post-completion Evidence/Transcript, such as a transcript, certificate, or other proof.
  • Receipts for reimbursement, when applicable.

Older records that stored materials together remain available and may be labeled as legacy supporting files.

Connected Online Learning

A clearer path from registration to recognition

For connected online learning, your class or session registration can determine access to the correct course experience. The course delivers the learning, while the class, credential claim, or approval workflow records eligibility and final recognition.

Completing a course may prepare a credential claim, but course completion does not always mean the credential has already been issued. Follow the claim or approval step shown by your provider or district.

What Professional Learners Should Review

  1. Open My Credentials > Renewals > Professional Plan and confirm your last and next renewal dates.
  2. Review goals assigned to you and connect your own professional goals where appropriate.
  3. Use Add from your Portfolio to bring existing learning into the plan without duplicating it.
  4. Correct inaccurate self-reported facts in Portfolio rather than changing source facts in plan notes.
  5. Keep an Evidence/Transcript file for each activity that will require final completion review.
  6. Use Save draft while working, and share the plan only when you are ready for district review.
